David Foley

It is with great sadness to announce that David passed away on 31st August 2023. Our deepest sympathies are with his family at this present time.

David gave his time and talents so generously to all here at Sunbeams. He touched the lives of many and has left very heavy hearts far and wide.

We will all treasure the memories shared with David here at Sunbeams and we are so grateful for his invaluable contributions to the delivery of Sunbeams Charitable Projects.

VOLUNTEER MUSICIAN

Eliza Gutteridge

Eliza has been volunteering and supporting at Sunbeams Projects for a number of years now following student experience here at the Centre. Eliza is a talented local Artist in Cumbria and became increasingly popular nationally through her time spent on the hit TV Show ‘The Voice’ in 2018 as one of Sir Tom Jones’ semi-finalists! Eliza was just 17 years old during her time on the show and already has a wealth of experience in her musical learning journey.

EVENTS / CENTRE VOLUNTEER

Caroline Craghill

There are many opportunities to join our diverse volunteering team. We have a small team of wonderful volunteers who help in a number of different ways within the organisation. If you have a couple of hours free weekly, fortnightly or monthly to help with our Centre Bookings or our Events, then please contact Vanessa Strutt, Centre Manager and ask for a Volunteer Registration Form.

Work Placement Students

Although we would love to be able to offer Work Placements, we are a very small team and we are unable to give the time and resources a student deserves. However, we always welcome volunteer students over 16 years of age who might be able to offer a couple of hours in the holidays.

Sessional Project Volunteer

Can you offer a couple of hours each week to help with the set up of rooms for our Projects? Welcome our beneficiaries and even join in sessions where appropriate. Some Projects also require refreshments…could you help in the serving of these and the washing up?

Events Volunteer

Fancy helping with promotion and publicity or helping out at our monthly concerts and fundraising events? We need volunteers for events throughout the year to attend usually evening or weekends. If you’re outgoing, have an interest in music and would like to support us please get in touch.

Conference & Meeting Room Centre Volunteer

One of our big income generators is Meeting Room Hire. All the money we make is put back in to our music projects, We are often looking for volunteers to assist in the meeting & greeting of delegates, serving of coffees and lunch.
