Annie Mawson’s Sunbeams Music Trust congratulate and thank Lisa Franny Askins on her incredible success and support

Sunbeams are extremely proud to congratulate Lisa Franny Askins from Penrith on her incredible achievement of completing the London Marathon on Sunday. Lisa has gone the distance – literally and figuratively raising almost £2000 in support of Sunbeams.

The Charity are thrilled to receive this very generous support and thank both Lisa and all her Supporters who have contributed many generous donations.

Founder Annie Mawson MBE and MRSM said, ‘I am enormously grateful to Lisa for not only raising such magnificent funds but in also helping raise vital awareness. She has shown unbelievable dedication and spirit, and we are so proud to have Lisa represent our local cause.

I believe in the last few weeks Lisa has committed a huge amount of training and has continually worn her Sunbeams running vest highlighting the Charity at many events and on training opportunities which is absolutely fantastic’.

Lisa said ‘I feel fortunate to have witnessed the incredible work of the Charity. The people, the building, and the joy it brings to both children and adults in our community truly amazes me. The Trust is deeply grateful for the sponsorship I’m providing, and it has made me realise just how vital it is to raise awareness of this wonderful charity, all donations are very appreciated no matter how small’.

The Team at Sunbeams are very much looking forward to welcoming Lisa back to the Sunbeams Music Centre to hear all about the Marathon and also  for her to see first-hand how her sponsorship funds will be making a difference to over 2000 children and adults that each month receive Music for Life® and Music for Dignity® community music sessions.

To receive the dedication and energy of challenge event supporters is absolutely vital. Not only do they help raise essential funds, but they also spread the word and inspire others, and bring our mission to life in communities across the county. Their efforts turn personal milestones and experiences into powerful movements for change.  This also emphasizes that the Charity’s efforts are focused on helping those close to home bringing the power of music to Cumbria.  Sunbeams would be thrilled if you are considering a challenge would choose our local Charity as beneficiary and will provide fundraising support along the way.

The Charity needs to raise almost £400,000 each year to ensure disabled and disadvantaged children and adults improve their health and wellbeing through the creative freedom of music.

At present Lisa’s fundraising page is still open. If anyone would like to support this inspirational challenge, please visit 2025tcslondonmarathon.enthuse.com/pf/lisa-askins  asap.
