Annie Mawson’s Sunbeams Music Trust, (Sunbeams), has re-started its live Community Music Therapy Programmes in person and outdoors at the bespoke Sunbeams Music Centre! Sunbeams will also continue to deliver Sunbeams Music For Life® and Music For Dignity® Programmes online on Zoom for many beneficiaries who continue to access from their homes.                                                                                                                                    July 19th 2021 marked the start of Step Four of the government’s roadmap. Most legal restrictions in England to control the spread of Covid-19 were lifted.
For many organisations the lifting of legal restrictions has sparked concerns and it is still possible to catch and spread COVID-19, even if you are fully vaccinated. There are still vulnerable people awaiting being fully vaccinated, especially children. COVID-19 will be a feature of our lives for the foreseeable future, so we need to learn to live with it and manage the risk to ourselves and others.
Though plenty of people are excited to see lockdown measures ease in England, the virus is still circulating, and people are still becoming seriously ill with COVID-19.  As a Health and Wellbeing Setting, it is essential that Sunbeams still implements guidelines to ensure the health and safety of staff, musicians, volunteers, visitors hiring the facilities, but vitally to protect our clinically vulnerable Beneficiaries who attend the Centre for Community Music Therapy.  To reassure all those attending the outdoor sessions, we will continue to have Covid Protocol in place for the foreseeable future.  Please get in touch with our Project Manager, Liesl McViety, if you would like to attend the outdoor sessions at the Sunbeams Music Centre and/or sessions online on Zoom.
