Sunbeams are at it again! The Music Trust was Founded by Annie Mawson who was born and bred in Cleator Moor, and has great support from Cumbrians – especially Challenge 24 , a group of friends who are passionate about raising money so that people with disabilities can receive Music Sessions from Sunbeams. The beneficiaries range from children aged 3 months to adults aged 106 years, with a wide spectrum of special needs, including cerebral palsy, autism, rare syndromes, terminal and debilitating illness, emotional and behavioural disturbance, profound multiple disabilities, Alzheimer’s and senile dementia. Sunbeams works with over 1,400 people improving their quality of life, and communication through their ‘Music For Life’® and ‘Music For Dignity’® programmes.

So great is the demand for their Community Music Sessions, that over the last 6 years, Sunbeams has successfully raised
£2 milliion to build an iconic purpose-built Centre fot the Therapeutic use of Community Music, which will not only serve the people of Cumbria but will also offer opportunities for research and training for Musicians and Health professionals throughout the UK. Annie would like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who has helped Sunbeams raise over £2 million and helped to realise this mission.

Everyone involved with Sunbeams works tirelessly and passionately to raise funds and generate pledges not only for the Centre but also for all for the ongoing projects. We are joined by Challenge 24 in this mission to serve as many people with disabilities through Music, which can transform peoples’ lives. The team have had long enough to forget the pain and agonies they suffered in the last challenges and we have great pleasure in telling you about their next venture! In their own words ………
